Mar 23, 2008, 6:31 pm Kiltimagh shipped a heavy defeat away to Swinford in their first league game of 2008, played in Swinford on Easter Sunday. Kiltimagh were missing a number of regulars and never got to the pace of the game, going down on a 3-7 to 0-5 scoreline. Mar 19, 2008, 10:53 pm Kiltimagh had to call off the League Game against Aghamore last weekend due to the pitch being unplayable after the heavy rain. Kiltimagh's next game in the Celebrity Bainisteoir
Competition will take place in Mayfield, Cork on Saturday 5th April 2008. The
starting time hasn't been fixed yet but it is likely to be late
afternoon.
While the team will be likely to be based in a
hotel in Cork City the night before the game, it is hoped to base supporters in
Mitchelstown, a 25 minute trip from the ground. Accomodation availibility and
cost will depend on the numbers intending to travel. Also the club will consider
arranging a bus down to Cork if there were sufficient numbers interested. Would
anyone interested in travelling by bus or seeking accomodation contact any
member of the Club executive or contact Tod O' Mahony (086 6822623) or Tom Byrne
(087 6385185) Mar 9, 2008, 4:38 pm Despite being short a good number of regulars, Kiltimagh had a narrow win against Ballyhaunis in the first round of the East Mayo Centenary Cup on Sunday 9th March 2008. Mar 2, 2008, 12:46 pm Kiltimagh intermediate team just about scraped through against Wexford team, Taghmon-Camross on Saturday 1st March 2008. Despite the horrible weather, both teams served up a very exciting hour (and a bit) of football. The Wexford boys looked to be home and dry leading by 2 points going into injury team but a last gasp goal from Paul Lydon saw Kiltimagh prevail by the narrowest of margins. Feb 10, 2008, 10:22 pm Kiltimagh have been drawn in what could legitimately be called the "Group of Death" in this year's intermediate championship. They start off with a home game against Hollymount and finish up with a trip to Tourmakeady. It will be a difficult trip to Tourmakeady seeking points on the last day and the club will be hoping to have the necessary points in the bag at that point. After the initial home game, Kiltimagh are away to Davitts and follow this with a home game against Kilmaine before the trip to Tourmakeady to finish off. In fairness to all the clubs in this group, there are groups in the senior championship where any one of these teams would fancy their chances of progressing. Martin and Marty and the lads will have their work cut out to negotiate their way out of this group but with the experience garnered from last year's campaign they should give it a good rattle. |
