Jul 17, 2008, 11:01 pm Kiltimagh 1-6 Aghamore 2-8. Hot favorites, Aghamore, barely squeaked through against Kiltimagh in the East Mayo U14A Final played in Charlestown on Saturday 17th July 2008. Kiltimagh dominated for long periods of the game but they could not get the vital scores to put the game beyond Aghamore. Aghamore breathed a sigh of relief when Kiltimagh's challange faltered in the final moments and they broke out from defence to make the game safe. This is a vital game for Kiltimagh and they must win the game on 2 counts. In a negative sense, the points are essential to avoid the possibility of relegation but in a positive sense, if Kiltimagh win the game then their chances of proceeding further to the knock-out stages are kept alive. A win then against Tourmakeady in the final round of games could see them progress to the quarter-finals. The team could do with all the support they can muster for this do or die game. Jul 14, 2008, 8:20 pm There was a huge crowd in attendance for this game to celebrate the memory of Niall 'The Goat' Gilmartin. Kiltimagh started with a strong team and there was little to choose between te sides. However, Na Fianna's fitness and teamwork told in the later phase and they pulled away when many of The Goat's old friends dusted down the boots and took to the field to honour his memory.
