Oct 3, 2009, 1:28 pm Keith Cummins' Team 0-5 Keenan O' Brien's Team 0-4: Keith's team prevailed over his first cousin, Keenan O' Brien's team by the narrowest of margins in this very evenly contested Charlton Cup Final, played on Friday 2nd October 2009. Keith's team started the better of the two and quickly went into a one point lead with a point from Conor Mallee. However, Jack Mullarkey struck back and then Keenan's team equalised before going a point ahead. The tackling was fierce on both sides and, as a result, scores were hard to come by. Keenans team had a strong first half with James McGrath and Jamie McNicholas playing well at midfield. Keenan's team led by apoint at the break, 4 to 3. Keith's team dominated for a period in the second half. When they were under pressure, Colm O' Shea in goal, kept them in the game with some good saves. Cian Gallagher and Dayna Finn won a lot of possession around the centre of the field but Fionn O' Mahony, Conor Malee and Laura Carroll failed to convert a number of chances. With Sean McGreal hoovering up the ball sent in to the goal area, Keenan's team hung on to the one point lead going into the last 5 minutes. Laura Carroll then gained posession and hit over a great point to equalise. Conor Gallagher then kicked over the winning point to cue great celebration amongst Keth's team.
