This will be a very difficult encounter as Emyvale will be clear favorites after their demolition of Dunedin Shamrocks from Edinburgh in the quarter-final on a scoreline of 3-7 to 0-7. A huge factor in Kiltimagh’s success to date has been the phenomenal support for the team from the people of Kiltimagh. The Club hope that this large support will again mobilise and head down the N5 to Longford for this, the most important game in the Club’s history. Preparation for the game hasn’t been easy with the GAA grounds under water at the beginning of December and then covered in ice and snow for 3 weeks. Most of the training has been indoors but Mick Regan, Martin McCaffrey and Brian Cunningham will have the team as ready as they can be for this challenge. At the time of going to press, all the players have a clean bill of health so it is hoped the lads will have a full strength panel to pick from next Sunday. Jan 8, 2010, 12:17 am The venues for the All-Ireland Junior Semi-Finals were announced last night, 6th January 2010. Due to the inclement weather, the quarter-final clash between Emyvale and Dunedin Connollys will now be deferred for a fortnight to the 24th January 2010. As a result, Kiltimagh's semi-final will now take place on the 31st January, a week later than originally arranged. In the event of the game being against Emyvale, then the venue will be Pearse Park, Longford. If Dunedin Connollys prevail then there is still some uncertainty as the venue as it will either be Parnell Park, Dublin or Pearse Stadium, Galway. Jan 2, 2010, 8:24 pm The great success of the Kiltimagh Junior team this season is coming at a significant financial cost to the and Hector Ó hEochágain of RTE fame is lending his help to the cause. Hector will take charge of the Club's fundraising night at the Park Hotel on Saturday the 16th January next. It should be a great night's entertainment with all sorts of novelty events taking place including a re-run of the Village Idiot Stakes from 2007. Music will be provided by Tommy Elliott with late bar and all for €10.00. Dec 25, 2009, 11:05 am Kiltimagh U13 team were unble to secure a play-off against Moy Davitts for the Feile poisition in 2010, when the County Hearings Committee turned down the Club's appeal against the decision in favour of Moy Davitts that a play-off between the winners of Division 1 and Division 2 was not in accordance with the Rules. The CHC made the decision following consultation with the authorities in Croke Park and turned down the appeal as "Mayo Bord na nOg did not formally approve any change to the regulations regarding the U13 League competition and qualification for Feile 2010." The Club is disappointed with the outcome but the executive of Mayo Bord na nOg made an error in good faith and we just have to get on with matters and, while the players, parents and management will find it difficult to accept that the team were denied the opportunity to have this issue decided on the field of play, this should not be seen to cloud an otherwise very successful year for the players and managers. Now its time to concentrate on 2010 and this team should go on and make every effort to win the U14 County Championship. Dec 17, 2009, 9:25 pm The hearing of the Club's appeal against the decision of the Mayo CCC to uphold Moy Davitt's objection to playing Kiltimagh for the Feile na nOg 2010 poisition was heard by the County Hearings Committee on the 8th December 2009. After a lengthy hearing the CHC reserved their judgment in the matter and the most recent news is that the matter was referred to Croke Park for clarification of certain matters. No decision has been received by the Club as of 17th December 2009 Dec 17, 2009, 7:25 pm The Clubs Annual Race Night will take place on Monday the 28th December 2009 at The Cill Aodain Court Hotel, Kiltimagh.
